Why Is Your Faucet Leaking?
There are a variety of reasons why your faucet drips or leaks, and it’s something you need to take care of right away because that’s literally money down the drain. Here are four reasons why your faucet leaks:
- Your faucet’s ‘O’ ring is loose or worn out
- The valve seat is corroded
- The washers are shot
- A pipe is broken
If you’ve tried everything and still have leaky, drippy faucets, it’s time to call in a plumbing repair company to ensure you’re not losing any more money down the drain in wasted water.
Do You Have Adequate Water Pressure? The Answer May Surprise You!
Your home’s water pressure is measured in pounds per square inch (PSI), and it’s normal for household water pressure to be around 50-80 PSI. However, many homes have 30 and less! Have you noticed your morning shower isn’t as vigorous as it should be? It’s probably the lack of pressure!
Most water pressure issues are caused by clogged pipes, which are common in older homes. If you don’t think you have good water pressure, call a residential plumbing repair company and let them test your pressure and find out a solution to get you up to speed!

Does Your Toilet Continually Run? Here’s What To Do
Many homes have at least one toilet that won’t stop running, and just like with a leaky faucet, it’s not only annoying, it’s wasting YOUR money. Estimates say that a running toilet can waste up to 200 gallons per day! Here are other toilet troubles to watch out for and when you should call in a professional:
- Weak flush — is when the bowl is slow to empty
- Clogged — is when you can’t flush
- Water trickle — can be caused by a supply line
- Leaks — caused by faulty or corroded seals
At B&L Plumbing, we’ve seen virtually every type of toilet problem, and we’ve fixed them all. Call us as soon as you notice any of these plumbing issues so we can prevent any more of your money going down the drain!

Please remind your homeowners that they need to disconnect their hoses from the hosebib on their houses. When hoses are left on the faucet, it does not allow water to drain from the copper in the wall and can freeze in the copper. When water freezes, it expands and then can split/burst the copper in the wall.
